Viktor Horodovenko is an Honoured Lawyer of Ukraine, Doctor of Legal Sciences, Professor, Laureate of the Yaroslav Mudryi Prize, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine. Representative of Ukraine in the Consultative Council of European Judges of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe. Professor of the Department of History and Theory of State and Law of Zaporizhzhia National University. On November 13, 2017, the 14^th Extraordinary Congress of Judges of Ukraine appointed him a judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine.
