International Cooperation

             Yaroslav the Wise National Law University  is actively developing international relations in the framework of bilateral partnership agreements and long-term international projects. The University cooperates with the partners from Germany, France, Ireland, Russia, Spain, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Uzbekistan, Vietnam and other countries. The University participates in the Bologna Process. In September, 2004 the Rector of the University Prof. Vasyl Tatsiy signed the Magna Charta Universitatum. The University is a member of the European University Assosiation.

         Participation in joint European projects with leading universities of Western Europe has always been important for the Univerdity. It was a partner institution in five Tempus Tacis projects (in 1997, 1998-2001, 2003-2006, 2007-2009, 2009-2011). The University was a coordinator of consortium of four European universities in the project  «Quality Assurance for Evaluating Student Learning».

The partners of the University were the Thames Valley University (the United Kingdom), the University of Oviedo, the University of Alicante (Spain), the University College Cork (Ireland), the Royal Institute of Technologies (Sweden), Polish Open University and l’Universite Paris-Sud (France).

         The project participants have developed the training materials on EU Law; EU Consumer Law; Comparative Criminal, Commercial, Environmental and Constitutional Law; International Commercial Arbitration; Human Rights. The methods of Resource Based Learning materials development have been studied.

           Yaroslav the Wise National Law University  cooperates with Eberhard Karls Universität, Tübingen (Germany). Joint German-Ukrainian School of European Law functions in the framework of cooperation with Eberhard Karls Universität. The co-organizers of the School are The  National University «Yaroslav the Wise Law Academy of Ukraine», Eberhard Karls Universität and German Foundation of International Legal Cooperation. More than a hundred of the University’s students have already received the certificates of the School graduates.

         The University cooperates with the Defense Institute of International Legal Studies (the United States of America). The leading experts of the Institute conduct regular seminars with the students of the University on the topics  «Legal Aspects of Peace Operations»,  «Law and the War on Terror»,  «Court-Martial Procedure»,  «Human Rights», etc. The group of lecturers from the University visited the Institute. The representatives of the US Embassy in Ukraine participate in the work of the seminars.

         The University has signed the Agreements on cooperation in the field of higher legal education and science with the Faculty of Law of Moscow State University, Moscow State Law Academy, Saratov State Academy of Law, Ural State Law Academy, Ho Chi Minh Institute of Law, Tashkent State Institute of Law.

         The students of the University participate in International Law Moot Court Competitions (Telders and Jessup)

         Yaroslav the Wise National Law University  has contacts with International Association of Universities. The University provides annual information on its international activity. The University is invited to participate in conferences and other events of the Association.
