ADVISER/TRAINER ON RULE OF LAW in the European Union Advisory Mission EUAM to Ukraine.
Dr. Jur. Saer Ammar studied law at Aleppo College of Law in Syria. He worked as JUNIOR LAWYER for several years. He moved to Germany where he finished LLM at the Christian Albrecht University in Kiel. He holds a PhD degree in International Law from Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt/Germany.
He worked as ELECTORAL TEAM LEADER for UNMIS in Sudan and as LEGAL OFFICER for the European Rule of Law Mission EULEX in Kosovo. He is currently working since December 2018 as ADVISER/TRAINER ON RULE OF LAW in the European Union Advisory Mission EUAM to Ukraine.

Schedule of the lectures with summary:
The European Advisory Mission to Ukraine (EUAM)
This lecture will introduce the work and the Mandate of the Mission. It explains the scope of its Mandate and work in Ukraine.
The lecture will also introduce different EU Missions around the world.
International Criminal Court
The International Criminal Court (ICC or ICCt) is an intergovernmental organization and international tribunal that sits in The Hague, Netherlands.
The ICC has jurisdiction to prosecute individuals for the international crimes of genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes, and crimes of aggression.
Annexation of territories in International Law
The lecture will provide some examples of the ICJ Jurisprudence regarding Annexation of territories.
The annexation of Crimea will be a subject for discussion.
The exterritorial Applicability of International Human Rights Conventions
This lecture will explain the exterritorial applicability of the European Convention for Human Rights in occupation cases.
There will be some practical examples from the jurisprudence of the European Court for Human Rights (ECHR).
Working in an International Organization (Career Development)
This lecture will explain career chances at international organizations such as the United Nations (UN) or European Union (EU), or “nongovernmental” NGOs.
How to get an internship, jobs etc. and what are the payments/salaries for its staff.
